This Trick Shows You How Strong Your iPhone’s Signal REALLY Is

The three signal bars at the top of your iPhone often offer a frustratingly inexact picture of how strong your signal really is.

Thankfully, there’s a way to see exactly how strong the signal you’re getting from your nearest mast is.

Go to your iPhone’s phone-dialling panel and enter ‘*3001#12345#*’, then press ‘Call’.

This will put your phone into field-test mode. Then hold down Power and Lock until the power down screen comes up.

Now press the home button for six seconds.

This brings back the home screen - but with numbers instead of bars for the signal.

The numbers are negative, so the lower they are, the better. Between -40 and -77 is a good, strong, mobile signal.

Anything lower than -100 is going to be very weak and shaky.

If you want to go back to the bars, just tap on the numbers. If you want to bring back the numbers, tap the same area again.
